I was in New Orleans for the weekend - blistering hot at 101 degrees! Great to see that they have recovered nicely from Katrina - I lived in Louisiana for 5 years and enjoyed that city alot. One of the unique things is that their artistic stamped iron sewage covers and I was suprised to see them leveraging this icon on tshirts, maybe in new respect for the power of water. Oh yeah, also saw lots of tshirt logos with "Brad Pitt for Mayor".
I prowled Magazine Street alot on my frequent trips to New Orleans. One of my favorite collectables is the rod iron they use on the balconies of the homes. I've collected random pieces and have them all around my house and in my garden. Here's a shot of my backyard with an old iron fountain.
